I got thrilling news in the mail today!

Got my official acceptance letter in the mail!

I almost screamed! $72,000 in scholarship money?!!

Although Trinity is currently a reserve school for me, I'm thinking more and more about attending, just because... dang! 72 grand is a lot of money!

AHHH I'M BAD AT UPDATING

OKAY well college applications and end-of-term assessments have been killing me and as a result, my beat-up self has had no time to update this xanga. SOOOO I will do lots of updating now.

1) School + Apps

Just in general, it's all kicking my butt. I'm being overworked and I'm not getting enough sleep, but hey... it's senior year! This will all end in about two months, right? Right?????

Dissecting sharks in anatoooomy! Baby sharks in our mama shark's uterus!

Supplements for college apps gahhhhh but kind of fun I suppose haha.

2) Homecoming 10/22/2011

Homecoming was really great, the best one I've ever gone to. I'm glad it happened senior year too. I had a lot of fun, and I'm so glad that my closest friends were there too, because in past years I just stuck to my date and didn't talk to anyone else. And even though I gave Alex a lot of attention, I got to enjoy the evening with my good friends as well. :)

The Asian part of our homecoming group. :)

We replaced Natalie with Karen in this photo ahahaha.

We swapped all of the guys' suit jackets when they left for the bathroom!

We're so clever...

Charles gettin' low with Roderick...

The Phoenix. It was the dance of the evening. :)

:)

3) Hmmm?

I asked out Alex on 10/27/2011. It feels like we saw this coming for a while, though. I think he was planning to ask soon, but I beat him to it. :)

lots of updates

Katharine got asked to homecoming by Charles right before her Quizbowl scrimmage. :) I accidentally revealed too much when I asked too many questions that she apparently was not surprised anymore. ): Dang it. But it was still so cute! He got her flowers and a penguin pillow pet!

Having tea with the headmistress!

Cookies, sandwiches, and deep conversation.

Milan planking at the gym. God I miss the team.

Alexander's mum! I loved it so much. And I just have to give a shout-out to Kristin, Katharine, Nina, Caroline S, and Daly. They did bunches to help me out on making my garter for Alexander. Especially Kristin, who basically made the entire garter for me. AHHH DEAR KRISTIN IF YOU READ THIS, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The Plano game was incredible. Huge marching band and the exciting game just ahh! The stadium was also HUGE. I met a bunch of people and had fun. Broke my necklace, but it was great.

After the game, Alexander drove me around, trying to waste time. Then we sat in a pitch-black school parking lot, waiting for the rest of his friends to come around. We blasted Hawaiian music and just talked about movies for a long time. Then he drove to the gym to pick up his equipment for the competition and we saw coach in the gym at 11:45 at night... sketch, and he jumped so high when he saw Alexander staring in through the windows. Alexander drove me home around 1:00 that night.

Our group of boys. Alexander, Ben, Andre, Brian, Nishesh, Andrew... and Jesse is cut off! ):

Group of girls. Celine, Emily, Ximei, Me, Lucinda (lol). Cynthia refused to be in the picture. ):

OKAY WE SAW JOELLE AT THE DINNER. ALSO, VALERIE'S SISTER. Feeeeencing follows us around!

Classic Alexander smile!

Things about the homecoming party-

1) People are incredibly nice and everyone wants to dance with you even if they don't know you. Also, that entire night was just a huge ego-boost. When we saw Martin, he just said such sweet things (check t) and it was nice.

2) The dance itself was DEAD. We came two hours late, and the dancing had died off for the most part. And Alexander would awkwardly hang around behind me while I danced with Celine. Later, a slow song came on and Alexander took me to the dance floor. Then he was like "So, how do I do this?" and I had to show him how to slow dance LOL. At first, his hands were too high and I had to move them from my rib cage to my waist. Then he was like clenching my waist, so I had to loosen his hands. Hahahaha then he felt like was too tall for me (he's 6'4"...) and bent his knees for me and I was like "NO stand up, don't embarrass me." So yeah...

3) Because the dance was so dead, the entire group went outside around 11 PM and went for a long walk around the entire campus. Because my back hurt, Alexander and I just sat on a bridge beside the pond for about an hour. We talked for suuuuch a long time and I feel like I know him really well now.

4) The afterparty was just sad. SAD. Brownies and vegetables hahahaha so I had Alexander take me home. We blasted Portugal. The Man and The Foundations all the way home and it was so fun. It was a good night, even though the party itself was sooooooooo lame.

The next day, I worked at the tournament and ran the bout committee and organized direct eliminations. We gave Chris a free meal because he helped me brother earn his ranking. Then he came home with us and took a shower and played with my cat for about an hour. We skyped Nitty, too. He didn't come to the tournament, but when we called he was just in his room eating ice-cream oreos ahahahaha.

Good weekend. Nothing got accomplished, but it was good.

Over and out,

Bea.

injuries

  • nerve injury in the back
  • disjointed hip
  • abductor tension
  • unstable left shoulder (she couldn't seem to explain this one well, though)

And I thought I had only strained my back. ):

Looking forward to the next 10-60 days of recovery and therapy. Boo.

Over and out,
